FAD-DIETNG A NO NO!
I have always been pretty heathy and gym active, but since having a baby that changed somewhat; and now after my second, I have never been more determined to work harder at getting that beach-ready body.
Yes after having children, your body tends to change a little, and it most likely will never be the same, but you can get a pretty awesome one if you work at it. Why am I writing about this.. well it will certainly give me an extra push that many of us need at times.
I have never really been a fan of fad dieting, since you tend to put most of the weight back on (if not more), once the short period is over. Instead I have chosen a route that I think will work well for me, or should I say I hope will work well.
- Calorie counting (reduce number of daily calories by 30%)
- Eat well, but without removing the things I love
- Interval Training and running
So for the calorie counting, this will be a little annoying at times, but I guess that I will soon get to grips with it. After checking various sites that take age, gender, height and weight into account, and of course the date that I would like to see results, they give a recommended daily calorie intake. Obviously if you exercise, this also plays a part in the calculation.
When it comes to eating, I try to eat healthy but will be more mindful to include all food groups correctly, no soda, candies, white bread pasta etc; but there are some baddies that I will stick with as a treat every now and then. If I give these up, then I will be sure to indulge too much at a later date, ruining all my hard work.
Interval training is a great way to exercise especially if you don’t have a lot of time on your hands, and its something that can be done at home. 15 minutes a day doesn’t sound like a lot, but combined with healthy food at reduced calories, and 1 or 2 runs a week will certainly start to show.
I have a lot of clothes in my closet just waiting to come out of hibernation, so let the games begin, and I will post on this subject again in a month or so with an update on my progress.
I would love to hear from y0u, are you currently working towards a weight loss or weigh gain goal?
Have a fabulous Friday!
