CELEBRATING MY BLOGGER RECOGNITION AWARD
So this month is proving to be pretty awesome!! It’s my birthday month, I’m slowing getting to grips with YouTube and my Blog schedule, I hit 5K on Twitter, I am upgrading my tech and I was awarded this most fabulous award which surprised me to say the least! The Blogger Recognition award is given to bloggers by bloggers, to show the appreciation and dedication it takes to write such fabulous posts. Being a blogger takes time, effort, sweat and tears…
Before I go much further, I would like to thank Marouane Vantout from PerfumeSets.us for nominating me; I am so honoured and extremely grateful. If you haven’t already heard of them, I definitely would suggest checking out their website. They are perfume experts and their site not only offers in-depth knowledge, but you can also purchase directly.
HOW/WHY DID I START BLOGGING
I will try to condense this as much as I can.. I used to work crazy hours for corporate companies in UK and USA; cofounded my own company, traveled worldwide for work, and ate lunch and dinner at my desk. Although it was hard, I learnt so much and I am appreciative for that; I also met my husband during this time, so I have a lot to be thankful for. To de-stress I used to do a lot of DIY crafts, and help with party/event organisation; so after the recent birth of my daughter, I decided to set up a blog and YouTube channel covering the things I enjoy. let’s be real, being a parent can be stressful, so it is important to find ways to de-stress; and I absolutely love blogging and vlogging!
I had no idea how to set these up, but thanks to Google and YouTube how-to videos, I designed and coded my way to a site I can call my own. My site went live 10 months ago, and I am constantly finding new ways to improve.
ADVICE I WOULD GIVE TO NEW BLOGGERS
Firstly, if you want to start a blog, just do it!! What I mean is; the more you think about it, the more you may talk yourself out of it, or start believing that you won’t be as good as others. It takes dedication, time and a lot of effort; but it is something everyone can do if you put your mind to it.
Choose something that you know or that you can research, and that makes you happy; you must enjoy your blog to continue posting fabulous articles; which will be your road to success.
RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH… once you have chosen your blog topic (i.e. beauty fashion lifestyle tech travel etc etc), check out others within the same field. See what works for them and what doesn’t, and don’t be afraid to reach out to other bloggers for advise, we are a community! And to reiterate this, my e-mail address is: firstname.lastname@example.org
Once you have chosen your blog name, set up your hosting and find a template. Personally I would recommend working with WordPress.org (not
WordPress.com); the reason for this is I started with WordPress.com and although I found their packages very affordable, they did not offer the flexibility I wanted with the layout and functions. Wordpress.org is an amazing platform to work with and it is easy to learn. However; if you are wanting to just give it a try, then WordPress.com may work for you, as well as others like blogger.com.
NOW FOR MY 15 NOMINATIONS
I received a lot of congratulations for this award, and with that came a lot of blogs; it has taken a while to go through all of them and it hasn’t been easy to pick 15, as there are so many fantastic blogs… here is the list of my 15 chosen fabulous bloggers I am nominating for this awesome award:
Please continue this and help more fabulous bloggers be recognised; and don’t forget to check out all the blogs above, they are definitely worth visiting!
